XIII GUIDE Conference

The XIII International GUIDE Conference, held in Rome from 3rd to 4th May 2018 and hosted by Guglielmo Marconi University, has seen the participation of universities coming from numerous countries across the globe. Attendees came from Austria, Brasil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Germany, Guatemala, India, Italy, Poland, Spain and U.S.A.

The two days conference featured 26 Academic Presentations to the 60 participants attending the conference.

XII International GUIDE Conference

The XII International GUIDE Conference, was held in Orlando from 15th to 17th February 2017.

Jointly organized by Guide Association and University of Phoenix (Central Florida), has seen the participation of outstanding universities coming from different countries.

The Conference was attended by more than 120 participants. The 49 Academic Presentations focused on the current status and next evolutions of distance learning, addressed different topics, ranging from:

  • new rethinking pedagogy for the current digital generation
  • innovative emerging technologies
  • improvement of a standardized quality system in e-learning

The pedagogical approaches to be used for the new digital generation has been the most debated topic. In this framework practical case studies have been presented, reflecting on the use of new media and social networks as learning tools.

XI International GUIDE Conference

The XI GUIDE International Conference was held on June 22 - 24, 2016 in Madrid, Spain, at the Madrid Open University. The conference was jointly organized by the University of the Basque Country, UDIMA-Universidad a Distancia de Madrid and Marconi University - Italy, leading institutions in the field of e-learning and technology-based education.

The 2016 e-learning strategies and trends was explored through the presentation of case studies, practical applications and the analysis of data related to students’, faculties’ and organizations’ performance.
Professors and researchers from all over the world participated in the conference to present their research and field experiences and get updated on the latest trends and innovations in e-learning.

X International GUIDE Conference

The X GUIDE International Conference was held in Vienna, Austria on September 16th-18th, 2015 at University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien (UASTW). The conference had participants from many well-known universities coming from numerous countries across the globe. Attendees came from Austria, Ukraine, China, United States, Italy, United Kingdom, Argentina, Philippines, Canada, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Great Britain, Algeria, Poland, Denmark, Israel, Slovenia, The Netherlands, and Bulgaria.

Throughout the three days, the conference featured 50 presentations. They reflected the latest worldwide trends in e-learning, addressing topics such as the evolution and transformation of MOOCs, the creation and implementation of virtual laboratories in teaching and learning and the importance to develop distance education programs that can effectively respond to corporate training needs.

IX International GUIDE Conference

The IX International GUIDE Conference, held in Buenos Aires from 6th to 8th May 2015, has seen the participation of outstanding universities coming from numerous countries of Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela) as well as from USA, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Italy and UK.

The Conference focused on different topics, ranging from the comparison between traditional and distance education to relevant social themes, such as digital inclusion, e-citizenship and online education accessibility.

VIII International GUIDE Conference

“Science and Technology, Management and Quality: the future of distance education in Brazil and around the world”

The VIII International GUIDE Conference, held on November 2014 at the Universidade Tiradentes (Aracaju, Brazil), attracted 170 participants from 20 different countries. During three days, the conference featured 96 presentations in plenary sessions as well as other sessions dedicated to topics such as the evolution of e-learning; e-learning as a response to the growing demand for access to higher education, the evaluation of students’ outcomes in online education, e-learning and the use of MOOCs and OERs in academic and corporate education, education and communication and instructional design innovation in online programs
